Biker Babes!

One of our favorite things we did this year on our trip to Hawaii was renting these awesome mopeds! We drove them everywhere and we only had them for 24 hours. Next time we will get them for longer.... they were fun to take to the beach and to the Iao Needle (I know opposite sides of the island). Zipping around on Maui took on a whole new meaning! LOVED IT! I have to give props to the guys at Maui Mopeds...they were great and made it so easy... they delivered them to us and picked them up.

Yes we were "Biker Babes" for a couple of days! :) Unforgettable!

Isaac's Day January 8th 2011

Isaac was baptized on January 8th 2011. I know these pictures are late but better late than never is what I say. This was a grand day for Isaac. And very faith building for me. You see the day did not start off very well...Isaac was in a bad mood all morning and into the afternoon. Things were getting crazy around our house. As I tried to keep the spirit in our home the contention was just growing and growing. All I could think to do was to keep offering up silent prayers. I think the advesary knew something special was to happen that day and did not want it to happen. Keith had gone over to the church early to check on the font to see if it was still filled because there was suppossed to be another baptism right before ours and imagine his surprise when he got there and the church was dark and all locked up...lucky us he had a key...but this was only 1 hour before we were to start and the font takes at least 3 hours to fill. (panic is starting to set in).

So I knelt in prayer and plead for the font to have a rush of water. As we all dressed and got ready to go so we could get there on time Isaac decided he did not want to be the center of attention today. He changed his mind and locked himself in his room and would not get dressed. Luckily Keith has a lot more patience than I do so I turned it all over to him. And prayed a silent prayer that we would not have to drag him out the door kicking and screaming. Keith amazingly got Isaac to open his door and get dressed and out to the car in less than 10 minutes. It was a miracle. Silent prayers of thanks were offered.

So we arrive and realize there is another baptism at the same time as ours that was not on the schedual....(more panic and prayers). So we adjust our rooms and times and by this time people were starting to arrive and we were still not ready because of the shuffle of rooms and setting up chairs and all that fun stuff that comes along with baptism's, and yet we make it work. (silent prayers of thanks)

And more silent pleading that the font is full enough for Keith to make sure Isaac's baptism is done correctly. So we start the opening song and the sweetness of the spirit is immidiate and calming to everyone. Sister Woods gave a great talk on baptism. Isaac loves her and listened so well. We next went into the room where the font is and it was full enough!!! Isaac was baptzed and his countenance showed his love for the Savior in it. We came back to our crowded room full of so many poeple that love Isaac. Joette sang the most beautiful music and Isaac cried and said "as soon as she played the first note I felt the spirit so strong mom". (oh melt my heart). We had a wonderful talk on the Holy Ghost from Judy. It was amazing. Isaac I think will never forget her analogy of the Holy ghost is just like your blanket keeping us warm when we listen to Him and she held up Isaacs favorite blanket that he sleeps with...it was a total surprise and he loved it. Later when he recieved his new scriptures he marked the scriptures that Judy and Ann used in their talks. He had amazing retention that day! He recieved the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. The circle of priesthood holders around him was incedibly awesome! The love from them and Heavenly Father was very apparent in that moment.

Isaac later described that day as the best day of his life. I often look back on that day as a day of learning and growth. Heavenly Father blessed us. Even with all the panic beforehand it all worked out. And Isaac became an offical member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so grateful for the wonderful teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. That we have the covenant of baptism and the knowledge and power of the priesthood and the ability to recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost. Thank you my youngest son...my last child to be baptized :) thank you for choosing the right! You bring me so much joy. I love you!
