Oh do you ever just have one of those days where you don't want to get up or get dressed or do anything? Well today was one of those days for me. I have no idea why either. I stayed in my pajamas untill 2pm. I think sometimes we need days like this. Maybe to rejouvenate our get revved up for the next hurdle in our scheduals. I dont know.... I just wish I didnt feel so guilty about having a lazy day. Maybe I feel guilty because I do have tons of things to do and I didnt do any of them today. We did manage to put up our Christmas tree. It looks lovely even if half the ornments are all towards the bottom.
Oh well tomorrow is another day!
I'm just sure I will wake up in the morning with a fresh new look at life....after all I will have an 11 year old daughter to greet. She is so amazing and I cant believe she is only turing 11. She teaches me something everyday. Who knows maybe she might have an answer to my need for a lazy day today. Untill next time ...enjoy warm fuzzy slippers and huge mugs of frothy hot cocoa. I did!

My own Stripling Warrior
As I sat in church on Sunday pleading with Heavenly Father to help Isaac behave in our childrens sacrament program I thought for sure Heavenly Father would answer my prayer and have the perfect son ... surely He would do this for me just this once. I needed it so badly that day. As the meeting started Isaac was fine and just happy to be there and then when it was time for all the children to go up to the stand he started to act up. So I went and sat with him on the stand and still I pleaded with Heavenly Father for him to be good. He wasn't . He did manage to say his part even thought the whole time he was saying he wasn't going to do it. Still it was such a hard day for me...I just coundn't figure out why Heavenly Father wasn't answering my prayer. I could not understand. I left the church very discouraged. I decided to go for a drive around the lake to be alone and pray. I asked Heavenly Father to help me understand why the day had gone like it did. I just wanted to know what I was doing wrong. And then the sweet understanding came, that wonderful warm feeling when the spirit is witnessing of the Savior. I realized that I could not change this little boy who is being raised to fight in the last days. I needed to change how I respond to him. I can not smash his spirit. It is who he is. I realized that if he was going to be able to live in these days and in these times he needs to have a strong will. And most of all just love him anyway. Heavenly Father did answer my prayer that day just a little different than I expected. He has given me my own stripling warrior to raise and I am honored to have been trusted with this boy who brings me such joy and pain all at the same time. I hope one day he will be as honorable as those 2000 young men who listened to their mothers and followed the gospels teachings with perfect exactness. And who did not doubt that their mothers knew it.

First snow
What a beautiful morning! I woke up to find big beautiful snowflakes falling. You know the kind you want to go play in because they look so inviting and fluffy. We decided to celebrate with Christmas music and hot cocoa for breakfast. I let the girls miss the bus (I drove them to school) and we just danced and sang to Johnny Mathis and drank hot cocoa and watched the snow fall. It was magical. I knew we were starting something that we will do for years to come when that first snow falls. I loved how we just stopped the morning rush and routine and took our own time out. It is moments like these that I love as a mom. Little treasured moments that will in the future bring tears of contentment to my eyes. I know my children felt my love for life and joy for the season. I hope that I can show them more moments like these in the next few months of holiday hustle and bustle. So heres to that beautiful first snow fall that helped us remember to slow down and enjoy God's gifts.

the title
The title you might be wondering? Well all my life I have been hiding from my middle name. I have just recently discovered what an honor it is to have my grandmothers middle name, and the 4 other ancestors that are also named arthema. Maybe I have just grown up a little bit more or discovered the joy of personal history... (thanks Janna my friend) Anyway, I decided to just be proud of who I am and what I am. So here it is for all to see. So come along the journey with me as I find Arthema.
I am getting it
Do you think I am a crowd follower? I am not sure what to think of all this. Kind of exciting and not all at the same time. Anyway I have a blog! Yeah!
