Finding April

Hi April this entry is for you. I find I am missing you and your girls terribly. I know its hard for you to come home without mom here and it was probably the wierdest visit at home... but for me I enjoyed your company so much. You are a wonderful mother. I loved having your girls over. I loved watching the races with you. And thanks for taking Isaac to the fair. I loved being at the river with you and just chillin. I dont think we spent enough time together this time. Thanks for sharing your "skinny" cake with us. When you drove away that last night my heart just ached for more time with you and your family. Keith felt it too. We love you April. Thanks for sharing your visit with us. I know it was a hard trip home maybe next time we can come see you.

2nd Week

Well we are now into our second week of school and I find that I am a little meloncholy at home with my children at school. I waited with Isaac for the bus this morning and realized that he will never have a sibling in the same school with him again. My older 3 children have always been close in age so they have always had each other to lean on and share school with. My heart aches for Isaac...especially when he hugs me and says "mom can I just stay home and snuggle with you all day"? I know its just the adjustment time for first graders but that still doesn't make it any easier to send him off to school....I know right....this last month I have been jumping for joy at the thought of all of my kids being in school all day and now I realize how much a part of who I am is because I serve my family daily. It is a realization that I would not have found out untill I learned it for myself. I am looking forward to the future with new anticipation at what my days will bring. Who knows...

First day of School Continued...

So here we have Isaac who was so excited to go to school that he woke up at 6am ready for the day! Poor guy he was the last to go because he starts the latest. This is hard for a first grader to wait like this.

Jumping for joy!

Oh I love to get pictures of them walking like this. He is so stinkin cute! Do you see the box of crayons in his pack pack... way too cute.

So Isaac had a fabulous first day. He was a little disapointed that most of his friends from kindergarten were not in his class this year but he found them on the playground and said "mom I had 4 reccesses" Wooo hooo! I asked him how hot lunch was and he said "their fries were deliscious! I even ate them without ketchup" (big steps for him...ketchup is his staple on everything).
So while the kids were in school alllll day.... I decided I would take a couple of days to play. So I baked cookies for them so they could have them when they got home...(I know mom of the year award!!!) Then I went out to lunch with my sweetheart...all alone! Then read a book...visited a friend...and read some more. I think it was a pretty good first day of having all of my kids in school full time. I was a little sad and lost at first but that went away when they all came in the door. And I felt ok about having them in school all day. I have set some goals for myself that I have shared in previous blogs. But for now this week I have chosen to play. And today is the second day of school....I have read a book....baked a pear crisp...stayed in my jammies and blogged this... I am doing great things!!!

Fisrt day of School!

So we made it through the first day of school! Yeah! Here is Taylor all ready to go. He was starting the day off with early morning Seminary at 6:30am. So he was the only one in this picture and its the only one I got of him smiling. We usually do a group picture in front of the tree in the front yard but it was still dark outside when we took this. The poor guy starts his day way early and does not get home from football untill 5:30pm. He sure loves it though. He came home and ate dinner and went right to bed.

Ashlee made it through her frist day at middle school. I was so nervous for her. She was so excited though so it made it easy to say goodbye to her. She has great teachers and came home excited beause she said she introduced herslf to a new person and now already has a new friend. Way to go Ashlee!

Alyssa the big 8th grader...ruler of the school hahaha. She had a great day too. I was not too worried about sending her off she was ready and already knows everything...according to her! She came home full hope and excitement for the new year.
